Afton was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and she was very active in Primary and with the Young Women's program.
Afton was well known for her cooking and was able to make a masterpiece meal from humble ingredients.
She enjoyed teaching the grandchildren how to play checkers and baking them her famous chocolate chip cookies.
You always knew that her special cookie jar would be full of freshly baked cookies. Alice looked forward to the annual family reunion where she could reconnect with her distant relatives.
They were later sealed together for time and eternity.
Alice was also a member of the Rebekah's Lodge and the Lion's Club and enjoyed serving her community.
She graduated with a Bachelor's of Science and Education at Kansas State Teacher's College in 1969.
She graduated with her Master's in Education Degree at Wichita State University in 1974.
Frank and Alice spent their summers at the family cabin at Smiley Creek taking care of the ranch and enjoying the outdoors.
Some of the family's fondest memories were those made while spending time at the cabin.
