How are Formula 1 cars built?

Aerodynamically perfected racing cars
The Formula 1 World Championship has existed since 1950, and with it the race car or Racing cars, with which this world championship title can be contested. It is of course clear that the cars have undergone impressive development, because for decades there has been a battle for thousandths of a second and technology has made enormous progress possible. Besides, the subject is security has become a very important one, and since the 1990s it has been possible to avoid fatalities during training drives and races, which used to be a fact again and again.
What is important in a Formula 1 racing car?
The Formula 1 racing car is a Single seaterwhich must be built up according to certain rules. These rules change practically every year, especially in the last few years there have been major changes in what the aerodynamics concerns and also what the permitted engines and pit stops are concerned. With aerodynamics in particular, many possibilities were no longer allowed because the racing cars were getting faster and faster thanks to their perfect roadholding, and the issue of safety came to the fore again.
Always new rules - like with the engine
The engines in particular often experience changes in performance. One example is the 2014 season, which brought about significant changes in the engine concept compared to previous years. There are engines with 6 cylinders and a displacement of 1.6 liters as well as mono turbochargers. The speed has been increased to 15,000 revolutions per minute and the engine output is sufficient for 600 hp. In addition, fuel consumption has been reduced to 100 kilograms. This means there is a completely different engine package than in the 2013 season and the turbochargers in particular have caused more than just headaches for some teams.
But not only the engines are often redefined in the rules, the vehicles in Formula 1 always look different, which has to do with the rules, but also with new innovations in design. Some creative solutions such as the Tyrell with two pairs of front wheels did not prevail, but other solutions remained long-term and if one team was successful with them, the other Formula 1 teams followed suit.
The engine and aerodynamics are the main factors for the success of a Formula 1 racing driver. Without the perfect work of the team from the development of the vehicle to the implementation by the mechanics, the best driver cannot become world champion. Since the engine specifications change again and again and the ingenious solutions of the preseason are always adapted through new rules, there is almost no team that dominates in the same way every year. There are situations in which completely new people are at the front at the beginning of a season, but the teams with an advantage in terms of budget can soon catch up and so ultimately the big teams soon prevail due to the better opportunities.
Components of the Formula 1 car
The Formula 1 racing car is always changing due to the rules, but certain parameters are always to be found and also logical. This includes the nose as the foremost part of the racing car, which can be exchanged with a flick of the wrist if you come too close to the front end. At the end of the racing car, the wing is responsible for the negative pressure and aerodynamics. In between, the driver sits in the monocoque, a safe fiberglass construction including a roll bar to protect the driver in the event of an accident. On the sides there are side boxes, which are intended as impact protection and also increase safety.
Steering wheel as a control center
The car is of course controlled with a steering wheel, but this steering wheel has little to do with what fans use to move their vehicle on a daily basis. Because the steering wheel has almost all the necessary functions directly attached and is not just a tool for steering, but a real control center, as one would expect from a computer's operating system.
However, a lot has also emerged from this in private cars and you can control the stereo system, CD player, radio and many other devices directly from the steering wheel - this comes very close to the steering wheel of a Formula 1 car.
